COVID-19 PROTOCOLS & PROCEDURES
In order for me to minimize Covid-19 transmission in my space, I ask that anyone booking in with me respect the current provincial restrictions in the weeks leading up to your appointment. If you are not maintaining this level of vigilance in your everyday life, I’ll kindly ask that you communicate this with me and we postpone your booking until the circumstances are safer, no judgement.
Please inform me if you are immunocompromised or living with someone who is immunocompromised to the degree that you feel comfortable doing so. If you have a medical mask exemption, please also communicate this with me so that I can respond accordingly.
The following procedures are being followed in our space:
We share a building with several other artists, all of whom work behind a closed door. Masks are required at all times in common indoor areas (ie. hallways) and high-touch surfaces are sanitized regularly. Everyone is asked to sanitize their hands upon entering the building.
Myself and my studio partner will be tattooing and working on separate days - our studio is small and we can't accommodate both of us as well as our clients while distancing properly. For this reason, my availability is currently limited to Thursdays-Saturdays.
All hard surfaces in our studio and bathroom are disinfected before and after each appointment, and at the beginning and end of each day.
I wear a mask, as well as a protective apron and at times a face shield during all tattoo appointments. This is all in addition to the regular handwashing, PPE and disinfection required of all tattoo artists at all times by Alberta Health Services.
If myself, my studio partner, or recent visitor to the studio tests positive for Covid-19 within 10 days of being in the space, we will follow all AHS recommendations, engage in contact tracing, and close the studio for the recommended period of time.
All clients are expected to adhere to the following rules:
Upon entering the building, you will be asked to sanitize your hands and fill out a form to confirm that:
+ You are not experiencing Covid-19 symptoms (including fever, cough, shortness of breath, difficulty breathing, sore throat or painful swallowing, runny nose, extreme fatigue, confusion or periods of loss of consciousness, unexplained loss of appetite, loss of sense of smell or taste, conjunctivitis (pink eye), or generally feeling unwell)
+ You have not, in the past 14 days, tested positive for Covid-19, been in close contact with a confirmed positive Covid-19 case, returned from international travel, or developed new and persistent Covid-19 symptoms
Your contact information will also be collected at the beginning of your appointment, and may be used for contact tracing if recommended by Alberta Health Services.
You are expected to wear a mask upon entering our building at all times during their appointment – if you need to take a drink or have a snack, we can communicate about this and I’ll make sure you can do so safely. I can provide you with a mask if you need one!
At this time, we cannot accommodate guests other than the client being tattooed, unless under special circumstances (ie. for mobility, medical assistance, disability support, etc.). I encourage you to bring something to distract yourself - if you want to listen to music, watch something, talk on the phone or video chat with a friend, read, etc., you are welcome to do so! I will not take it personally at all if you need to tune me out while being tattooed.
Please refrain from touching retail items in the studio – I’ll assist you with that!
